I swear I could not WAIT to post this look. I am a fair girl and there were posts that were ahead in line so this had to wait.
I had this purchased this fabric from Joann's early Spring with the intentions of making a Mother's Day dress with it. Mother's Day came along and my idea of what I wanted to wear for the day changed. Yeah, yeah, yeah - my moods are funny acting like that.
The fabric was too pretty just to make anything random so I had to wait for the feeling to "hit me". I found a pattern for a pair of ridiculously wide leg pants and I knew that was what I was going to make with this fabric.
I like to balance out my look when I am wearing something that is loose fitted since it is not the norm for me. So I decided to make this self drafted off the shoulder top with some leftover fabric I had remaining from a pencil skirt I had previously made so the looks could have some sexiness to it.
I have to say, this is probably my most favorite creation so far next to my floral maxi skirt I made last summer.
Here is my pattern review:
PANTS: McCall's 7131 View E
Pattern Description: Loose fitting pants with front waistband and pleats
Pattern Sizing: 8-16. I cut a 10
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? For the most part but when it came to the pockets the diagrams seemed a bit off to me so I had to wing it. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Runs a tad big. I love the fact that the legs are so wide that if you don't look closely enough you might actually think it was a skirt. Fabric Used: Floral silk from Joann's Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Shorten the length of course - I am only 5'3 Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I plan to make these in black for an upcoming event Conclusion: Very classy
Top: Self Drafted
Fabric: Jersey Knit
Hope you all enjoyed!
