Hey everyone! A really quick post because I posted some pictures on my Facebook over the weekend of a quick casual dress I made. I got a lot of compliments on it so I decided to post it here along with a pattern review for my fellow sewing divas.
DRESS: Butterick 5357 - View D (this is actually a top pattern but I added length from the waisline and made it into a dress)
Pattern Description: Misses Tops
Pattern Sizing: I cut a medium but it was huge so I had to alter to make it smaller. I think I could have actually cut an XS.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the french seams. Gives such a cleaner look
Fabric Used:
100% cotton Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: This patterns runs big. I cut a medium but it was so big I had to alter. I will cut an XS next time because I think even a SM will be too big. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. Conclusion: This was super comfortable. I can see myself making one in denim and also in a knit fabric to get a
different flow to it.
We will chat again soon!
